"Le label TACET, renommé pour son approche visionnaire et qualitative en matière de répertoire, utilise les technologies récentes pour créer de nouvelles expériences d′écoute musicale. Andreas Spreer, fondateur et directeur de TACET, a assuré l′enregistrement de ce disque. Il place l′auditeur au milieu des musiciens, à l′opposé de l′alto, autrement dit avec les violons à l′avant droite et gauche et les deux violoncelles derrière ses épaules. Une configuration résolument inhabituelle, qui demande un petit temps d′adaptation, mais ce rendu tridimensionnel apporte vraiment beaucoup au merveilleux Quintette pour cordesde Schubert – merveilleusement interprété. Les thèmes deviennent tangibles, grâce à une superbe interprétation, la structure de l′œuvre clairement compréhensible, et l′enregistrement donne tout son sens au terme "transparence acoustique" souvent galvaudé." A magical and eloquent performance
"There is plenty of great music waiting to be written in the key of C major, Schoenberg used to remind his students; but what are the chances of anything ever again being composed in that key to compare with Schubert′s string quintet, written in the year of his death at the age of 31? Like Mozart′s The Magic Flute it contains melodies that will charm casual listeners, seemingly simple tunes that become miraculously beautiful with further hearings, but also strange, often abrupt shifts in expressive tone that continue to tantalise those who have lived intimately with the music for decades.
